If you are a refugee and need to apply for a review of your refugee (protection) visa decision, you may now be able to receive free legal help from certain refugee and immigration legal assistance providers.
Several legal assistance providers across Australia have been given funding to help applicants through the protection visa process by providing legal assistance.
This assistance may include information, advice and representation if you are applying to the:
- Department of Home Affairs for a protection visa
- Administrative Review Tribunal for merits review of a protection visa decision
- Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia for judicial review of a protection visa decision.
For more information, see the Legal Assistance for refugee review applicants page on our website.
