We want our services, locations and information products to be easy to use by as many people as possible. You can find out about the Tribunal's main accessibility services and supports below.
Hearing, sight or speech support
National Relay Service
If you are d/Deaf, hard of hearing, or have a speech/communication difficulty you can use the National Relay Service (NRS) to help you contact us by:
- choosing an NRS number or link on their website
- giving the NRS our phone number: 1800 228 333.
Physical access
All our premises are wheelchair accessible and have accessible bathrooms.
We have portable hearing loop systems in all our locations.
You may be able to take part in Tribunal hearings and other case events by telephone or video link instead of attending in person. Please contact us to discuss your needs or give us this information when you apply for a review.
Language, translating and interpreting services
We provide a range of services to help people in language. We can:
- arrange and pay for an interpreter for hearings and other case events
- provide translated information
- speak with you through an interpreter.
Website accessibility
We aim to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) on this website. This means you can use assistive technologies, such as screen readers, voice recognition technology, and other types of accessibility features.
This website also meets Australian Government requirements. We will make changes in future, based on your feedback and as we work towards meeting WCAG 2.2 requirements.
Other file types
Some content on this site, such as speeches, forms and translated fact sheets, is provided as Portable Document Format (PDF) and Microsoft Excel files. Links to these documents include the file type and size.
A PDF reader is required to view PDF content. A list of free PDF readers is available on Wikipedia.
Auslan and captions on videos
We have included captions and Auslan interpreting on the videos we have published on this website.

You can access the information on this website by clicking the 'Listen' button on the right-hand side of your screen.
If you are on a larger screen like a desktop computer, you can also listen to any words you choose by highlighting those words and clicking the 'Listen' option when it pops up.
Commitment to being accessible
We have set out how we will support applicants to effectively engage in Tribunal proceedings in our Commitment to Accessibility and Inclusion [PDF, 231 KB]. This is an important first stage of the development of our Accessibility and Inclusion Framework.
